Why I recommend this
I have no patience for 'smart' lights or gadgets with seven different strobe modes you’ll never use. You buy this for one reason: it is an extension of the 20V battery ecosystem you’re already carrying. The build quality is industrial, not consumer-grade. It’s got a heavy-duty, pivoting head that actually holds its angle—most lights flop the second you set them down—and the LED output is clean enough to spot a hairline fracture in a bolt or a misplaced label in a dark rack. If you are already running DeWalt tools, this is the most boring, reliable, and necessary purchase you’ll make all year. It does exactly what it says on the box, every single time you click the switch.
What I've put it through
I’ve run this light through a full cycle of warehouse abuse. It’s taken direct falls from waist-height onto polished concrete, it's been dropped into bottom-rack dust, and it's lived in the back of my truck through Texas heat and vibration. I’ve used this to illuminate engine bays when I’m replacing alternators at 2 a.m. and as my primary light source during overnight floor logistics. The lens is scratched to hell, and the yellow housing is covered in scuffs, but the internal circuitry hasn’t flickered once. Most flashlights die because the connection gets janky from impact; this one just keeps working. It’s not pretty anymore, but it’s still bright.
